If yours is like mine (1996), then there are four small bolts that hold the pulley to the water pump. These should be easy to get out. There is also a large nut that holds the fan clutch to the water pump. You need the special tools to separate the fan clutch from the water pump.
The tools are shown above. The bottom tool is the truely special one. It is a modified 12" mending plate. Make a cut out to go around the nut. The two holes next to the cut out gets bolted to the holes in the water pump for the pulley. In my case, I had to enlarge the two holes in the mending plate to get it to line up with the holes in the water pump.

: '99 Tahoe 5.7L, the water pump weep hole started drip coolant.
: The new pump is ready to install. Based on Haynes Manual and Factory Service Manul, the cooling fan, fan clutch and water pump pulley should be removed before water pump removal.
: A large size wrench is need to remmve the clutch.
: The question is:
: 1) If I face the radiator, to turn the wrench, should be clockwise direction or count-clockwise direction?
: 2) While turning the wrench to loose the clutch, leave the serpentine belt on the pulleys or off the pulleys?
: 3) While turning the wrench to loose the clutch, how to stop the water pump pulley turning?
