I'm planning to buy a set of Bridgestone Revo's and need to decide on the load ranged, C, D or E. I have a 98, K1500 and don't do any towing, so load isn't really an issue. I am concerned about ride quality. The Michelin LTX MS's Load E's that I currently have are a bit harsh riding.
I spoke to a guy at a tire shop and he explained that the Load range just relates to the max pressure, which is true. My thinking though is that the tire has to be heavier in order to make that higher pressure possible, so that even if I don't take advantage, it could cause a harsher ride. Also, this tire place only had Load E tires available.
There is tons of objective information about tires on the Internet including Tirerack and consumer reports, but nothing on this issue.
