Plastic Safe Threadlocker ?

Found out the hard way that Permatex blue threadlocker is NOT compatible with plastic, and makes it brittle (one less center cap later on my 18" rims......)...Still concerned with the center cap mountng screws loosening by themselves over time. So, here's the question - Anyone here have experience with PLASTIC SAFE threadlockers? I know of two: Loctite 425 (which I have been unavailable to source from my local speed shop yet), and teflon tape. Has anyone used teflon tape as a threadlocker? TIA
