I am wondering where the safe points are for jacking up and placing onto jackstands the NBS suburbans/yukons. Specifically a 2005, I am sure they are all the same. I have always been able to crawl under the older trucks/suburbans to change oil, trans fluids, etc. But the 2005 with deezee tubesteps I dont think I can squeeze under there. I used rhino ramps once, and they slid on my garage floor. Put carpet scraps under the rhino ramps to prevent sliding. I was also a little scared of the possiblity of driving off the end of the ramps. I took them back to walmart after the first oil change, and in the future I will just use floor jack and jackstands.
I do almost all of my own maintenace and repairs if possible.
I have heard of bent frames from improper placement of jacks/stands. Also heard of bending rear axles from jacking in the middle at the differential. Although in the past with other vehicles I have used the differential for jacking.
So, I really need to know where it is safe to use a floor jack and then place stands for both front and rear. I dont want to damage anything.
