And I have been running an Excide (1000) made battery in my Sub for the last couple of years without a problem. It has the "spiral cell" design which is supposed to be better than the Optima cylindrical.
This battery replaced my 'Black Panther' (now Odyssey) dry cell battery. It didn't get cycled enough in regular driving.
