I posted recently regarding an oil leak forming on the pan near the drain bolt. I have replaced the drain bolt, tightened up the pan bolts, and snugged up the valve cover bolts. There was a little oil on the rear of the passenger side valve cover so I suspected that. But after doing all the above and steam cleaning the areas, the leak is back after about 200 miles. Not too much but slowly getting more each few months. I was able to use a mirror and checked out the rear of the intake manifold area but found no leaks. So I guess its either pan gasket or main seal. Everything else is clean. Question is how much work is it to replace pan gasket? With all the tubing running around down there I am not sure if its possible to just remove the bolts and lower it maybe 1 inch and slide the gasket in there? Has anyone done this? And any tips or things to watch for? Is this a rubber gasket that will come off easily or does it require some more elbow grease to remove it?
Tnanks for any help...
