Long-time lurker here, always getting mucho help from this board. Now I may be able to help you!
Replace the wife's 96 Sub 1500 vacuum booster. It uses studs secured to firewall, nuts are inside cab. First removed both 15mm nuts from master cylinder, carefully moved aside (careful as to not kink brake lines, leaving them attached is fine). Inside, position steering wheel upwards. Bottom 15mm nuts easy to get to. Tough part is top 15mm nuts - but use a deepwell 15mm socket with swivel and at least a 24" long extension. Run extension between support sheetmetal and steering column, then attach socket with swivel. Makes life MUCH easier. Oh, and plan on getting a new PAL-nut type fastener from dealer; this holds plunger/switch to pedal pin. All of $1 from stealership, no biggie.
