Hard to say just how bad, if at all, they are trying to scam you. I think we all have some duty to stop gouging though, or none of us will be able to afford warranties in the future. Just like Doctors gouging us until medical insurance is almost unaffordable.
Friend had a bad experience with Warranty Gold trying to get a partial refund after selling vehicle. Seems they use the actual vehicle mileage to calculate the amount of refund and not the mileage when the warranty was put in service.
