If you are concerned about what other people think, then you absolutely should buy what they tell you to buy. You should also live how and where they tell you to live. In fact, it'd probably be wise decision for you to give them all of your money and let them handle all of your financial affairs too. After all, your friends are only looking out for your best interests, they know what's best for you. Follow their every word and never question their wisdom or judgement.

: I'm thinking about getting an SUV but with all the recent attacks on how they are polluting, wasteful, and stupid, I'm starting to wonder how this will impact resale values down the road. Given that I would only be using it for running errands, should I re-consider and purchase a car instead? Many of my friends have been encouraging me to get a car instead.
