Haven't seen this type in a while, but it's a single square tube for receiver that holds 4 bikes. Modified mine to hole 6 bikes, but went back to 4 for now (got stopped by a cop saying it stuck too far past rear bumper without lights back there).

Holds 2 bikes between Sub rear and rack, then two more behind that. My modification just extened the steel bars to hold 3 bikes each. Can still open rear tail gate when only 2 bikes.

Becareful of the newer ones that SINGLE clamp onto the top tube. Friend ruined my mountain bike he borrowed (Trek 8000, $1500 bike) to ride with new girl friend. Turns out he went off roading with my bike on that carrier and the top tube got "dented" because the road was so rough. I like the ones that have two bars as far apart as possible to spread the loading onto the bike (picture is of the type). Major issue with aluminum & plastic frames.
