My Sub, as do all of my vehicles, pass Calif smog easily with so much margin, that the mechanic always says they run cleaner than most econo cars. Most folks on this board are a notch above the average and keep their rigs in good order.
Wasteful, oil hog, etc is misplaed. The 2-3-4 *CARS* it would take to haul my volleyball team to a tournament would use way more oil based products than my one vehicle. I've actually counted the number of cars other teams need vs my one at the tournament parking lot. Plus we usually end up with more stuff because we can haul more than thos econo cars. Even "zero" emmission is bogus, as the electricity most likely comes from an oil/gas/etc fueled turbine somewhere, then there is the efficiency losses getting it to their car. Even the "poor" fuel milage isn't when factored in how much total fuel those other cars comsumed vs mine.
You should make up your own mind and buy what you want/need. If other's opinion is so important, then buy what they tell you to, if that makes you happy. That is what is so great about this country, free choice and speech....even those misplaced idealists who are SUV bashing...wonder if they ever consider how lucky they are living in the US...
