Ben and others,
In the Post "Re: 95 K2500 7.4L F60", Ben commented that:
"If you have 3.73 diff ratio, those LT265/75R16's effectively change diff ratio by about 6-8%, meaning effective diff ratio of 3.73 is about 3.5."
Does it mean that larger the tire size, the lower the effective Gear Ratio and, therefore, the less performance of the vehicle?
Also, how does the large tire size affect the MPG? Intuitively, I'd say that it will use more fuel simply due the larger inertia of the bigger tires.
But, on the OTHER hand, the effective lower Gear Ratio should lessen the use of fuel, too.
What is the final NET effect? Please explain!
