Remove upper radiator hose. Get new, recommend Gates or Goodyear.

Do not throw old away. Either use as spare or cut up to make up this kit (have several for different sizes).

Old hose to radiator top inlet and PVC pipe & fittings to make down pipe into catch 5 gallon plastic bucket. Other end make adaptor to connect to garden hose pistol grip sprayer. Sprayer connected to water line.

Open up all heater controls to *HOT* & heater settings.

Can leave in thermostat, as they are all reverse poppet, meaning they close against flow and this is reverse flow, so it will push the stat open.

Turn on water, squeeze pistol sprayer being careful to make sure to turn off water flow if nothing comes out of the top radiator inlet into the 5 gallon catch bucket. Home water system can have up to 90 psi and the vehicles system designed for 15 psi. Can blow out gaskets & radiators.

Once flow confirmed, full flow and watch the outcoming fluid. When turns clear, system has been flushed, or MOST of it has been. Catch bucket contents is recycled. If need more flushing, another catch bucket.

Now add flushing fluid. I like Prestone. Run according to instructions. Shut off and allow cool down. If you wish to clean out the block plugs, now is the time to open them up and roto-rooter them. Reinstall plugs with generous anti-sieze and new plugs (cad or zinc plated).

Repeat above to remove/flush chemicals out.

Now install nes thermostat if going to, or not. Engine is now filled with water and need to remove enough for green. I run engine a very short time (seconds) to get enough water out by removing heater connection to radiator...water pump will flow liquid out the hose end. Fill with green. Run engine and if you have modified your thermostat with that extra "hole" in the stat flange, it will burp the air out fast, refill with green. Repeat this cycle till all air is out.

Button up system. Fill over flow bottle to about 3/4 mark while cold, using 50/50 solution.

Test run, get up to temp. Check for leaks. Refill over flow bottle till HOT fluid level just about 1/2" below bottle fill neck.

Done.
