The battery on my '01 Sub is cranking a bit slower when the temp drops below freezing. Want to replace before it dies completely. I like the idea of using Optima sealed battery. Are you connecting with original side posts, or have you converted to top post? If side posts, are Optima's less prone to "bolt bottoming out" problem, or will I need to assemble the requisite "sandwich"? Any more current thoughts on the "top battery post lugs" from PremierPowerWelder?
My cables are still in good shape, and would rather not replace at this point.
