it's your gas cap... Stop at the dealer and buy a new one...I think they are $15..
Why the dealer?? I had the same issue with a '98 Tahoe...replaced the gas cap with two times with the Autozone caps (Stant none locking).. Never cleared the SES light issue up.. Went to the dealer and bought one (even comes with the new strap to hold it to the body)...put it on in the parking lot.. started the truck right up and the SES light went off.. never had a problem with that issue again...
