While looking for the "Valley" item (which I couldn't find) on Ebay I came across a completed auction for a fancy, spring loaded, hinged spare tire carrier that mounts on trailer hitch receiver. But I did find a rigid mounted carrier that's a lot less expensive. Might be useful for the occasional trips where more room is need inside. You'd only have to remove the hitch-pin to get it out of the way. I know tire/wheel can be heavy, but this doesn't involve any drilling or bolting. Link is below.
The Ebay item was more expensive. But it had a couple of nice features; swings down out of the way, and appears to provide for another trailer adapter behind it.
Either way, these appear to be a nice alternative available on the market.

I am looking for a good external spare tire carrier that will allow me to move the spare out of the cargo area on my 95 Sub. Please provide more information if you can.
