4 Hi will help you go much better in snow and on ice, but don't forget you have to stop too. 4wd will stop you only a little better than normal. Don't overdrive the road just because you can press on the gas and go.
Also be careful making tight turns on ice in 4 wd. Under just the right conditions the speed difference between front and back wheels will break all four loose and spin you right around before you know it. The kids will say "Do it again!"
If you can keep at least two wheels on bare dry or wet pavement, you don't need four wheel drive.
That's how we do it in Minnesota.
: I'd like to know under what conditions I should use 4 Wheel drive.
: I will be doing no off roading at all.
: Currently it is snowing in the Northeast, we have about 6" of snow, can I use the 4 wheel drive in snow ?
: Thanks
