has anyone changed their rear dome light?

Hello folks!
I was wondering if anyone has changed or somehow modified their third-seat dome light assembly to be more user friendly (switchable). As of now, I have to switch it on/off from the driver's control when someone in back needs some light. I would like it to be more like the middle seat's switched lamps. I know I can rig it and rewire it but would like to ping y'all to see if it's been done and if there is a best practice.
Any thoughts?
