I have been hearing this ticking noise off and on for a while. So I finnally asked my mechanic to take a listen. ( I thought it was a lifter or something) His first thought was that it could be an exhaust leak. Then he says it could just be dirty valves. And he suggested that I change oil and add 1 qt. Tranny fluid with oil change, then change again after about 10 days. His theory being the trans fluid has more detergents thant regular oil. What do you guys think? 5.7L 137,000 miles
