You'll notice a bigger mileage difference by changing your driving habits than by changing your tires. (Not to say your driving habits are bad...)

I notice a huge difference in needle movement if I keep the pedal away from the floorboard and keep the speed down. I think that at a certain speed the wind resistance starts getting exponentially worse and mileage goes to Hades.

I've also started running on 87 octane with no noticeable difference. I used to run 91-93 octane and I now believe I've been wasting my money. Haven't put the 87 octane under any appreciable load yet, though...
