Saturday I got in the driver's seat, leaned back to
make sure the kids were buckled in, and BOOM, the
left front seat mount breaks.
It broke where the seat bolts to the power
seat "pedestal". There's 4 threaded "hard points"
spot-welded to the seat frame. The left front
hardpoint (and the metal it was welded to) had broken
off.
So I made a bracket that spanned the broken
area and it worked fine. I bought the truck used last
January, no idea how big the previous owner was. I
weigh about 225.
Anyway, just a heads up. Might be worth taking a quick
look under the seat and look for cracks in the metal
seat frame. Don't know if it's a common problem or not.
