: Saturday I got in the driver's seat, leaned back to
: make sure the kids were buckled in, and BOOM, the
: left front seat mount breaks.
: It broke where the seat bolts to the power
: seat "pedestal". There's 4 threaded "hard points"
: spot-welded to the seat frame. The left front
: hardpoint (and the metal it was welded to) had broken
: off.
: So I made a bracket that spanned the broken
: area and it worked fine. I bought the truck used last
: January, no idea how big the previous owner was. I
: weigh about 225.
: Anyway, just a heads up. Might be worth taking a quick
: look under the seat and look for cracks in the metal
: seat frame. Don't know if it's a common problem or not.
Check with a GM, I think there is a recall to replace the seat frame. Call a local dealer and have the service guy run your VIN# to check for recalls.
