OK, here's what I've been told as far as the prop. valve TSB:

1. The TSB applies to 92-99 C/K Suburban models with 8600# GVW (RPO C6P) - Source: the TSB text.

2. The brake system that I have on my 99 K2500 was identified as the JD7 - Hydro Power Disc/Drum brakes for 8400# GVW - Source: Service technician.

It was explained to me that the JD7 brakes have the 13x2.5 shoes where the C6P brakes have the 13x3.5 shoes. Therefore the TSB does not apply.

First, how can I identify what brake components I have on my truck? Second, I was under the impression that all 2500s were basically the same. Is the JD7 an unusual option for brakes? Third, if I keep getting premature wear on the front brakes, what are my options?

My Sub has a 454, 3.73 rear w/locking diff. Stock except for the wheels/tires. As a footnote, I've always found the brakes adequate on the truck, but they did say the right front brake was gone and had to replace the pads and caliper at 5800 miles! (It used to pull to that side; now I know why it stopped.)

Any advice is appreciated. I have a mind to take the truck back and tell them to rip out the brake system and put in the correct one under warranty, but I don't know if I have a leg to stand on.
