I'm about to set off on my first trip towing a 27' travel trailer, and I have a few questions for anyone with some expertise:
I know I should stay in "3" to protect my transmission. What about cruise control? Can I use it while towing in "3"?
What about engine braking on downhill grades (downshifting)? I would think that would be hard on the transmission too,
or possibly destabilizing, since the electric trailer brakes wouldn't be actuating (unless I did it manually).
Anybody ever use a roadside scale? Is it expensive? How long does it take?
