At what point will the greater surface area of larger tires negate the advantage of the engine turning at a lower speed? In reference to gas mileage that is. I'd like to get better gas mileage from the suburban so I was wondering what the best size to go with the next time I get new tires would be. And since it is mostly city driving, will the extra weight of each tire lower the gas mileage because of the extra effort that is needed to start moving each of them? Maybe some strange questions, but the longer I think about it the more different possible effects I keep thinking of.
