Had a bad experience w/ Steel Horse accessories, and thought I'd pass it on. Ordered a pair of OE style running boards for the Sub thru Truck Performance.com. Boards finally arrived, and found a couple of the plastic nubs that go thru the aluminum base plate had sheared of in transit. Poor design, IMHO.
Called Truck Performance and they said fastest results would come from Steel Horse directly. Steel Horse wouldnt do anything, and said the company that shipped the boards would have to make it right. This was someone called "Reliable" auto supply, in the midwest somewhere. They said it was Truck Performance's problem.
Ok, I am pissed. Call back Truck Performance-I have buying several things thru a great guy over there, usually can knock something off the price, or do no shipping, or something-and they have to have a pow wow to get an answer (sorry in advance to those I may have offended with that statement!!!!!).
Well, the call back says they will take the boards back, but I eat the shipping. They say they are eating the shipping back to Reliable, so "we all lose." Yeah, right. But he's done right by me to this point, so he gets the nod.
Oh well, buyer beware. Fortunately, I am only shipping about 100 miles away, so that should keep the cost down. Going local for the boards next, and I think I'll try the Cord Design (ATR brand) for their quality.
Just sharing--I think I'll pass next time I see the Steel Horse name.
