I have a 1987 3/4 ton 4X4 with manual locking hubs. When the hubs are not locked and in 2wd the tcase and front axels howel with my foot in the gas. As soon as I let off the noise goes away. With the hubs locked and in 2wd the noise goes away with the same conditions as above.
I changed the tcase fluid "nasty" and replace with synthetic atf and it helped some. Did all the lubes which gave me an excuse to get a great grease gun.
I have learned mountians about my new burb since finding this page. How about one more good fix?
