How can I tell what class hitch I have?

Apparently there used to be a sticker on the hitch on my '99 K2500 Sub (454, 3.73) but there isn't one anymore. In the near future I may need the capacity of a class IV htch but I don't know how to tell what rating the one I have is. The truck came with all the towing and plow options and when I looked at the hitch construction, it sure looks a lot beefier than some class III hitches I've seen. Any recommendations?
