: : : If this works, here is a picture at the NY Auto Show of the 2000 Suburban, which will be available this Fall.
: : I don't know--it looks like the '99 to me. Here is a site with the new pictures and the news announcement...

: Thank you for the links. Makes me REAL GLAD I purchased my 1999 Suburban!! The roof racks on this truck look nothing but stupid! Sort of looks like pig tails. I think the current body style has nicer looking, more chromed front grill. Bet Chevy's getting a lot of orders today.. for the current year body style!

I'm not crazy about the roof rack either. Looking at the rack on the 2000 Yukon, it looks like they are giving it a more traditional look. (http://www.auto.com/99nyautoshow/yukon/2.shtml). My guess is that the openings are for off road lights rather than air ducts. (http://www.auto.com/99nyautoshow/suburban/2.shtml)
I expect the roof rack with the integrated lights will probably be optional, and a traditional style rack will be standard equipment. (Why make it standard when they can charge more for it seperately?) I must say, I like the GMC grill on the Yukon--if they keep it for the GMC Suburban I'd be happy.
PS: What's the trick to insert a picture? I'm tired of posting the url...
