They 'wheel amazingly well for the size and clearance. I've had mine buried a few times.. Mud and snow, but most of those instances were due to the terrible stock tires (2000LS). My favorite story was last year. I was chasing a sunset (to photograph) trying to get to some old barns in the foreground. I tried to take a shortcut down a powerline road. Things were going well until "the ditch". I stopped, took a look at this monster and thought "well... maybe at an angle"... WRONG! I crept down in 4 low.. and THUD! I put it in reverse.. nothing but spinning. I got out and took a look.. I was miles from anything.. no cell phone.. one rear wheel was spinning, and one front wheel too. Then I remembered an article in a 4x4 mag about the locking rear diff, and how you had to give it a fair amount of gas (wheelspin) to get it to engage. I got back in.. held my breath, and crossed my fingers... put in reverse, gave it some rpms.. There was a brief "clunk" and I'll be darned if that thing didn't back right out of there. YAHOO!!! What I spent on the locking diff paid for itself right there. The only "damage" was a huge clot of mud and grass packed into the left front tow hook hole. To think that the dealer actually a argued with me about the diff and skid plates... Stand your ground... get the gear!! oh yeah.. I missed the shot, ha ha..
