I just lubed my chassis (K2500, but similar) and learned some new tricks. First, use ramps to ease the access. Learned that the skid plates do NOT have to be removed.
From underneath the truck you can get most of the zerks, but the pitman arm (attached to the steering box) I can not get to with the wheels pointed straight ahead. Likewise on mine, the left lower ball joint zerk is inaccessible.
So after finishing underneath, back the truck off the ramps, turn the steering to full right-stop and grease the pitman arm from the engine compartment and the left lower ball joint from the wheel well.
BTW, there are 12 grease zerks:
4 ball joints
4 tie-rod ends
2 idler arm
1 pitman arm
1 front drive-shaft
