Let the record shows that #1 Son is ALSO a Physically Challenged Person, registered with the State of Texas. I was laughing NOT at the “application of the ADA”. Rather, it was at the "Feeble attempt" at the application of the law! This is evidenced by my statement which says:

As a Physically Challenged person, I am VERY much aware of he word “sensitive”. It has two meanings:
1) being empathetic
2) being thin skinned
I prefer the definition of being empathetic better! Therefore, I have determined NOT to let this disability deter me from accomplishing my goals, whatever that may be. The world does NOT owe me a thing!
That being said, let me say that I have, throughout the years, learned to look at the humorous side of everything.
If I was not empathetic (sensitive if you prefer), of the need of the disabled, I would not have laughed! Such feeble attempt and "half-hearted" implementation of the ADA law show that whoever designed it was merely trying to meet the "letter" of the law just so they could claim that they did something!
As I also said in one paragraph:
“… why didn't they make it a little longer. The way it is, I don't know what they have accomplished!”
Also, as Marty has questioned:
“why didn't they just make the whole sidewalk wider instead of a turnout every 100 feet?”
It is apparent to me that the designers did not follow the “spirit” of ADA! I didn’t see any sincerity in the application. Therefore, I consider all this as nonsense. That’s the reason why I laughed!

Hey, it IS the "second thought" that got me in trouble here! Just because they did something does not mean they "accoplish" anything! I did not say or even consider this as a special treatment. It is a matter of easy access. That was the case in point! One of my statement was as follows:
“... why put it right next to a driveway? Is the driveway itself wide enough for passing? Also, why didn't they make it a little longer.”
This is where their stupidity come in!
