Just to let all you guys know, I am a former Excursion owner. I would like to say first of all, I do like the big space inside the excursion. I have 4 kids and haul a boat. But, these are the reasons I got rid of it. This truck is the most UNRELIABLE piece of junk i have ever spent my money on. I paid $45,000CDN for this vehicle. V10 engine, leather, fully loaded. Things I had repaired:
1) Rear end blew out after 5000km
2) Driveline viberation after 7500km
3) Rear main seal leaked at 9000km
4) power window stopped working at 13500km
5) Engine misfireing/hard to start at 16000km
6) Endless squeeks and rattles everywhere
Otherthings i hated: It would not fit in my garage. Its a pain in the A55 to park at the malls. It looks like a bus. Everywhere I go, everyone asks me why I drive such a big bus. The V10 is very slow when acceleration, It looses steam after 3000rpm...etc etc.
Well anyways I got Ford to buy back my Excursion and I bought a 2000 Sub 5.3 k1500 4x4. Now this thing drives like a dream. The engine, even though smaller, feels like it has much more power than the V10. The 5.3 will definately out accellerate the V10. It fits in my garage, its far easier to park, It looks awesome. The looks on this new style make it look much more expensive than what I paid for it. I paid $53,000CDN for it. now 25,000km and never been back to the dealer for repairs.
Now im not a Jealous Chev owner. This is reality. Maybe mine was just a bad one. But everyone i talked to around Toronto say theyve been having too many problems with their Ford...Oh well."
