1990 stock 2 wd, 3/4 ton with 7.4, auto, 4.10 gears. No lifts or aftermarket anything.
Symptoms: vibration (shaking??) starts about 55 mph, basically gets worse as speed increases. Hand shakes on wheel like DTs, doors/windows creak, dash and anything in center counsel rattles. Mirrors vibrate. Maybe slightly less when kicked into neutral, but mostly the same.
Have tried:
-multiple wheel balancings, then new tires--Big O double grooves, more balancings
-driveshaft straightened, rebalanced
-new u joints, carrier bearing
-checked trans flexplate for cracks...looked good
-new harmonic balancer
-new shocks (gabriel pro ryders...I know, but the old ones had no compression whatsoever, so there should have been some improvement)
This is basically a clean, well cared for vehicle that I would like to keep (mostly used for camping, ski trips, day trips all over Colorado) but is driving us nuts to drive!
