Another newbie question for the collective wisdom here ...
The 97 K1500 I recently purchased originally had 245/75R16 tires on it (per the window sticker) but the previous owner had installed Dunlop Radial Rover 285/75R16 tires. They don't appear to rub which surprised me since I was told I couldn't go above 265/75R16 on my 96 Tahoe 4x4. I haven't checked my speedo or odometer yet against a GPS reading so I'm not sure how far I'm off.
My question is ... with this increase in tire diameter (about 2.4 inches or 8%) should I worry about reprogramming the computer for better performance and gas mileage? Are there ways other than the expensive HyperTech gizmo?
