Wife mentioned that the check engine light came on today and noticed that the oil pressure was low, a bit under 40. I checked it out and at idle the oil pressure is 40- psi and above 1000 rpm it's 60+. I usually only look at the gauges while crusing and the 60+ is normal. I know the oil pressure will increase with rpm but the needle swings like the tach. I just don't remember it doing that. Only thing different is I put 10w30 in vs the usual 5W30. Oil level is fine. No light on during my check out ride. Thoughts?
On the Dexcool, I took the radiator cap off and found a bunch of clay like goop around the spring. Same stuff is on the inside of the surge tank. Was surprised to find the rad. low by 2 - 3 inches. I thought Dexcool was supposed to keep the sludge down and not require refilling.
