My 92 GMC 1500, 2wd, 5.7l has a factory installed hitch and trans cooler. The hitch itself has the following information on it:
Suburban..... V-5
Max Dead Weight...............Max Weight Distribution
4000 lbs................Trailer...10,000 lbs.
400 lbs................Tongue....1,000 lbs.
I've read and read about trailering with a Sub, but need to put this information in to perspective. I'm considering a travel trailer for occasional camping in Florida. I want/need to figure out what a realist weight/length of a trailer I can handle safely. Safely being the key word. I'm not going up mountains or anything like that. Just the occasional weekend trip to Disney, the Keys, northern Florida, etc.
All of your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated.
