My '99 K1500 Sub has 32K miles on it. My service manager suggested that I buy a GM extended warranty before the original 3yr/36K mile one is up. He said it would cost $1000 to $1200 to up it to 6yr/75K. He said he has put a lot of AC compressors and transmissions in Suburbans and that the warranty would probably pay for itself.
Although I really enjoy this truck, I am not blind to its quality issues; I've had numerous problems with it already (two new batteries, failed master cylinder, rear transfer case seal leak, etc.) so I am leaning towards getting the warranty.
Opinions? Experience?
