I'm having hard starting problem with my - '99 K2500 7.4L suburban. It has been getting progressivly worse for the past few months... Here is the run down.
Description:
- Starts right up when cold
- Cranks any where from 3 to 10 seconds before starting when it's warm.
- Has never NOT started ( yet.. )
- Battery appears to be very strong. Starter runs very strong the whole time.
- Runs just fine once it is started
- Has been getting progressively worse over the past month or so.
- Have used different grades and brands of gas with no difference.
- I compared the behavior of the pump to my Dad's sub (same specs) and they are both behaving the same way.
Attempts made:
-Replaced Fuel filter
-Cleaned battery cable ends and battery terminal with Baking soda ( they were already very clean )
Thoughts:
- A sensor going/gone bad?
- (~gasp~) Fuel pump?
- ???
Thanks for any help.
I have a helm service manual on order...
