A have a 99 1500 4WD LT Burban. I purchased it recently and yesterday brought it to a Chevy
dealer for oil/lube/filter/rotation/brake adjustment and to have the Transfer Case Fluid replaced
as per Bulletin #99-04-21-004. The bulletin states that flushing and replacing the Transfer Case Fluid
will resolve the issue of a "bump/clunk" feeling when the vehicle accelerates from a stop. Thanks
to Traveler, he educated me on this bulletin a month or so ago. Anyway, yesterday the dealership told me
they couldn't do the fix because another bulletin (#99-04-21-004A) came our recently that supersedes
the original one.
This new bulletin states "Discontinue Flushing and Replacing the Transfer Case Fluid Due to Bump/Clunk concern.
This bulletin is being issued to Cancel bulletin #99-04-21-004. Please discard bulletin #99-04-21-004.
This belletin is being issued to advise dealerships to no longer flush and replace the transer case fluid.
CURRENTLY, A NICKEL-PLATED SLIP YOKE IS BEING DEVELOPED THAT WILL CORRECT THIS
CONDITION. A NEW BULLETIN WILL BE ISSUED AS SOON AS PARTS ARE AVAILABLE."

Any thoughts?
