What's the difference between S4WD & F4WD?

I was going through my service manual getting down all the fluid information to get ready to change them out on the front and rear diffs, and the transfer case, and ran into a question. There are two front axle types listed, S4WD & F4WD. What is the difference between them and how do I know what I have? My truck is a 2001 Yukon XL K1500. They list different fluid types for each - 80W-90 for the S4WD, and 75W-90 Synth for the F4WD.
