I am ready to change the transfer case fluid for the first time on my '99 K2500/454 (63,000 km). I bought the special GM fluid (3 quarts or litres) and I also got the newer style replacement drain plugs that have the protruding heads.
Is the process of changing the fluid as simple as removing the upper and lower drain bolts, draining the fluid, replacing the lower drain bolt and pumping the fresh fluid into the upper drain bolt until it overflows?
Also, is it best to do this when the T-case is warm?
Any helpful advice appreciated.
