91 V1500, rear axle seal is leaking onto the shoes. How difficult is it to replace? Do I need to pull the the whole axle shaft out? Do I need to open up the diff. cover? They want $98 for the seal replacement.
Also, they recomend getting new shoes and resurfacing the drums. Is that necessary or can I put on new shoes and clean up the drums with brake cleaner?
Finally, should I install some praise shoes or stainless steel shoes? Any recommendations?
