Transmission cooler was installed and is operating properly. By the way, I read the TSB issued on the transmission cooler, and found that the recall extends to Yukons and Suburbans with the trailering package and 3.73 rear gears. The priority is Silverados, then later the Suburbans and Yukons. The TSB also noted that the transmissions are capable of pulling the rated load without the cooler, but the cooler was a marketing addition designed as a feel-good extra cooling capacity gadget. And it makes me feel good to have it, too. But if you have a 1999 Suburban or Yukon, you need to check for it. Once again, this only applies to 1999 models with 3.73 gears and the trailering package, and they either have to install the cooler or pay you 175 dollars. All leased vehicles will receive the cooler.
Hmmm...
